What to expect from your website design build

The following steps outline the process we follow to build your website.

Please note all of our website packages, unless otherwise stated, include the visual design and layout of up to 10 pages by LimeRed Design. This base package can include copywriting and/or any of our other optional extras, including additional pages. We offer many optional extras.

Your current website (if you have one) is analysed on a range of key factors.

These can include, but are not limited to: quality of current copy, site structure, representation of current branding, mobile-friendliness, SEO strategy and other relevant information. This leads into the design workshop phase of the website and subsequent project planning.

We hold a design workshop with you in order to formulate a design brief.

If you have an existing website we review this together to look at the styles, colours and general layout of the website content. We want to know what you like and what you don’t like about your current website.

If we are building a new website for you, we are interested to know what websites you like. We discuss these with you to get your input on how you would like your website to look and function.

An overall look for your website is created from this process.

Key staff are invited to contribute their views on the business direction and core goals of the website during this phase.

Based on our earlier design discussion/s, we will mock-up two different options for you for how your home page could look, along with up to two additional site pages, for your review.

We ask for your feedback and make additional minor changes to the design to provide you with a final design mock-up for these initial website pages. After you have approved the visual design, the website development work (coding) will commence.

Your design mock-up is made into a fully functioning website. The following outlines this process:
  1. The original visual design mock-up provides for consistent brand styling across the website so we use this as a basis to create the website template.
  2. Deploy the website template to a temporary development site (which you can access to monitor progress via a link that will be provided). During this time the required website coding will be completed.
  3. We will add content provided by you, re-use existing website content (if applicable) and/or undertake additional copywriting for you if this option has been selected.
A series of short training videos is available on the LimeRed Design website.

These cover basic instructions you need to maintain your website. Additional 1:1 training can be provided upon request.

Monthly maintenance packages can be provided as an alternative option if you would like us to maintain your website content on your behalf.

Upon your sign-off, we facilitate the transfer from development site to live production site. Once your new website is live, the following post-go-live tasks are undertaken:
  1. Google updates
    • Submit your site to the Google index
    • Create and attach Google Analytics tracking code
    • Add your business to Google Maps (if applicable);
  2. SEO compliance
    • Check page titles and descriptions and update these where applicable.
Once the go-live process has been completed, further changes (outside of maintenance packages) are charged under a time and materials basis.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our website training and we are happy to help with any technical difficulties our clients may have post go-live, however where technical assistance is required through no fault of ours, you may be charged a fee under our time and materials rate. Where technical assistance is required and the fault is found to be with LimeRed, there will be no charge applied.

Optional extras

Not every business is the same, nor is each company’s website – or at least it shouldn’t be. We will create your website collaboratively with you, in a style fitting to you and your business.

We offer the following optional extras which could be a perfect fit for your website.

We can assist you with the creation of web-friendly content.

This can include case studies, blog posts, social media content and web page content. Copywriting is priced at $1 per word and can include research (if needed). This rate allows for a draft to be provided for your approval and one set of changes. Additional charges may apply thereafter.

Your website can be highly optimised for Google and for your target market. Our advanced SEO component includes keyword research, market trends, monthly ranking reports and SEO compliance optimisation.

Google Adwords may be recommended to you, depending on the target market and competition for flooded markets. To deliver an effective campaign it is recommended campaigns be done in conjunction with (or after) the organic SEO step, which provides information on market trends and keywords. Landing pages are created for Adwords campaigns in order to achieve the highest conversion rate.

We partner with an agency that specialises in organic, lasting SEO results. For further information, please contact one of our team.

Ecommerce solutions can be customised to meet your needs, from simple online shopping cart functionality, through to smart products, online products, fully variable product functionality and a range of payment gateways. One-off payment features, or subscription models are available.

Unless otherwise stated, our standard ecommerce website includes all configuration and the initial loading of the first 10 products only. More products can be loaded for you. This is priced separately.

Case studies are a highly effective addition to a website and useful for increasing the likelihood of customer conversions.

We recommend 3-5 case studies for go-live and as future major projects are completed, the case studies benefit from being updated with new content. This keeps the site current and fresh; useful for both site rankings and end user engagement.

We can contact your clients on your behalf and write case studies for you, as well as assist with developing new content for case studies, going forward.

This service can be factored into your website maintenance package at additional cost.

Our websites are designed to have unlimited pages however our standard package includes up to 10 pages to be professionally designed and laid out for you.

Additional pages (beyond the initial 10) that require our design assistance are charged for separately.

Our website maintenance package includes edits to existing pages, which consists of:
  • Replacing provided text
  • Replacing provided images
  • Removing elements from the page
  • Updating shop pricing and/or stock levels

Additional changes can be included at our discretion.

New content, e.g. new pages, rewriting, redesigning, etc., is typically charged separately, under time and materials.

Your maintenance package also includes the cost of your monthly website hosting.

Monthly reports can be configured and sent to you post go-live at an additional cost.

We can report on any of the following: Google Adwords, Website Analytics, Facebook (including ad campaigns), Mailchimp Campaigns, LinkedIn and/or Twitter.

We can provide you with a sample report on request.

You might like to use video marketing to introduce your products or services and/or establish a personal connection with your website audience.

Some studies have shown consumers are at least 64% more likely to purchase a product or service that has a video representation. This could explain the growing popularity of video on websites.
